You may wonder what exactly I am doing with my life and why I am doing it. I work with YWAM (Youth With A Mission) in Kona, Hawaii. The west coast of the Big Island. I live and work at the University of the Nations. I work with a not for profit ministry called photogenX which advocates for those who do not have a voice throughout the world. Our hearts are to see injustice wiped off the face of the earth.
Currently I work closely with Paul & Susi Childers (the founders of photogenX) and with 2 other girls. Together, we help lead out prayer and intercession two mornings a week in the prayer room on campus, where each day brings a different injustice topic. We truly believe that by asking God for HIS heart on each issue, and asking God HOW to intercede and pray for each issue, things actually do shift and change! It's been amazing to see what God has been doing through these times and through the students that participate!
As well as leading out these prayer sets, Susi has invisioned a website for A Voice For The Voiceless. Currently, a small team of us are researching 30 injustice topics, to help teach people about what's going on across the world. We are designing, building and creating this website from scratch! We are shooting videos, gathering reasearch, shooting photos, and spending lots of time editing so that this website will contain all the information needed for the church to rise up and be the hands and feet of Jesus!
Every Thursday evening, the campus comes together for some worship and biblical teaching. I assist these nights by making sure every person involved has the correct scheduling and that the worship team has water, etc.
I am taking proactive steps toward my calling which is being a voice for orphans and children. I am currently praying about a location to travel to, to see first hand what it's like for orphans and children suffering from injustices.
